Drawings are at once the heartbeat, the bones, the musculature, and the spirit of all art. Drawings constitute a unique language for each artist, and the viewer is privileged to glimpse the skeletal elements of the art process first-hand. Drawings are personal: they reveal , they are intended as notes, they are a means to an end, and they represent the embryo of genius...the moment of an artist's truth.

Speed
The tortoise, although fully aware that his strength lies in his defense from the wild beasts that ravaged the land, wished that he too could make swift of himself like the others. Although we each possess distinct gifts and abilities, some of us will do anything in our attempts to "measure up".

wow!
They're neck and neck...it's a photo finish -- between that of this piece and the Violin panoramic. Well demonstrated.

Is this strictly ink and paper? It is just beautiful.
Ammmmaizing illo ;)
the both look like gods.. your art work is divine
I really liked this "tortoise and Mercury in a race" idea, great use of perspective and perceptive use of theme. Awesome.

nice drawing!! Cool idea!
Looks like that tortoise makes his home in McCovey Cove.
So is the turtle on the juice??
Nice drawing!!
I'm glad you liked my dog piece. I always lack something compositionally, but I did enjoy the linear overtones while creating.
