Drawings are at once the heartbeat, the bones, the musculature, and the spirit of all art. Drawings constitute a unique language for each artist, and the viewer is privileged to glimpse the skeletal elements of the art process first-hand. Drawings are personal: they reveal , they are intended as notes, they are a means to an end, and they represent the embryo of genius...the moment of an artist's truth.

Primitive
One cannot look very far these days without seeing an electric line, gas line marker or evidence of industry. We use the word 'primitive' to describe something naive, rustic, unintelligent, simplistic, or otherwise unsophisticated; yet, are we truly that much more advanced as a society?
I defer to the words of Leonardo, in that "to be simple is the greatest form of sophistication."

I so agree. I like this wonderful, soft setting.
Someone did a post with a comment that sort of goes, "If you long for days of simpler times, move to Amsterdam. They're at least fifty years behind everyone else." That sounds like a perfect place to me.
Lovely illo and commentary. Very true. I think every generation, society, likes to consider themselves so much more advanced than the one that came before -- stupid arrogance, really.
Just checking in! You've been out of it longer than I was...hope all is going well...
