Drawings are at once the heartbeat, the bones, the musculature, and the spirit of all art. Drawings constitute a unique language for each artist, and the viewer is privileged to glimpse the skeletal elements of the art process first-hand. Drawings are personal: they reveal , they are intended as notes, they are a means to an end, and they represent the embryo of genius...the moment of an artist's truth.

Match
Courtship among dragonflies can be a tumultuous, fiery process. Competition among males is extremely high and no-one more than the females bear the brunt of this heat. Swirling to and fro, submerging into the water, zig-zagging among the reeds, a female will make this "chase" a true challenge for her male counterpart. Here, the male clasps onto the female, keeping close guard of from fellow competitors during the process of egg-laying.
It is not uncommon for females to drown as a result of this conflagrate courtship.
