Hide

No other feathered creature in the great state of Pennsylvania is more elusive than the Wild Turkey. Their ability to hide from their many predators relies on their wisdom of the woods.

Process:
Graphite wash applied over a gessoed piece of moderately decent quality w.c. paper. Gesso was sanded to a relatively smooth texture. Lifting of graphite done with a brush or rag; ebony worked back into the surface.

Burnt Umber oil paint rubber over surface and wiped away with rag. Limited palette of oil glazes applied for accent.

Fun and very quick process...you should try it too!

fantastic piece! The process doesn't sound quick, but the results are stunning. I'm a big fan of your work though so I may be a bit predjudice :)

Another picture I'd love to have hanging on the wall...hopefully I'll get to try this technique in the coming months (as soon as I get a chance to breath...)...it might just be easier for you to send me this pic ...

I love your work, and hearing about the process. One question I have on your drawings: what materials did you use on Sprout (which is my favorite). I love the look and feel of your art.
